Today is a Good Day! Since our area of service has expanded to include Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee, the number of patients we serve has increased dramatically as has the demand for funds. Every individual and every business or organization approached by the Foundation has been extremely generous, and for that we sincerely thank you. The monies received from friends who make gifts in honor or in memory of a loved one is a significant part of the COF budget as are the gifts and grants from businesses, civic clubs, churches, schools, and other foundations. Remember, you don't have to have a special occasion to make a donation to the Cancer Outreach Foundation. Today is a Good Day!Click here to view the donation card. |
Donation Announcement: Abingdon Ambulance Service ![]() Jeannie Garrett and Nicole Matney of the Cancer Outreach Foundation accept a donation from Mac Clifton and Kevin Austin of Abingdon Ambulance. (Left to Right: Jeannie Garrett, Nicole Matney, Mac Clifton, Kevin Austin) After several months of raising money by employees of the Abingdon Ambulance Service, the Cancer Outreach Foundation has graciously accepted their wonderful donation of $2,000.00 that will help cancer patients in need throughout Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee. The donations were raised by employees of the Abingdon Ambulance Service offering pink lanyards to those that would wear them and every lanyard given the employee gave a one dollar donation. The donation was received at the Abingdon location, of which they currently have five locations (Bristol, Abingdon, Russell County, Scott County and Smyth County) with a sixth location about to open next to the new Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Virginia. Nicole and Jeannie of the Cancer Outreach Foundation had the pleasure to be able to view the Abingdon Ambulance Service custom pink ambulance that is "Responding for a Cure", and takes to the streets with pride and dedication to their community. The Cancer Outreach Foundation is grateful for the support Abingdon Ambulance Service will be able to provide to the members of the community needing assistance while struggling with cancer. |
